1. Operator and scope

Better Volume is provided under the Vast Lightyear (万维光年) brand. Contact: [email protected]. These terms govern the direct-download software and its licensing service. Read these terms and the Privacy Policy before using or buying it; stop using it if you do not agree. Purchasers through the website must be at least 18 and legally able to enter the transaction.

2. Product, delivery and current availability

Better Volume is locally running volume-control software requiring macOS 14.4 or later. Get the website edition from the download page, or the App Store edition through our App Store link. After website payment is confirmed and verified by our licensing service, the success page and purchase email provide the same activation code. Enter it in the website-edition app to activate. Contact support with your purchase email and order ID if delivery fails.

3. License and permanent device binding

A valid purchase grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable Pro license. Each website license or redeemed store code permanently binds up to three computers you own or control. Claiming a store code binds the current computer immediately; direct-edition activation on the same computer does not consume another slot. Repeated claims for the same purchase return the same code, and claims or activations on other computers count toward the same limit.

No self-service deactivation, manual transfers or slot releases are offered. Uninstalling, reinstalling or stopping use does not unbind a device. A new computer or motherboard change that changes its machine identifier counts as a new machine. Legacy random installation records are associated with machine identifiers on online verification after upgrading; linked records for the same machine do not count twice.

Protect your activation code. Do not resell, publicly share or redistribute licenses, bypass authorization, security or device limits, or use the product unlawfully or infringe others’ rights, except where expressly permitted by law. Buying a license does not transfer ownership of the software. These rules do not exclude mandatory consumer rights.

4. Activation and offline access

First activation requires internet access. Successful online verification allows up to 30 consecutive days offline, also limited by the validity of an annual store subscription. After expiry, connect to verify before continuing to use Pro. Lifetime licensing does not mean indefinite offline use. Refunds or revocation may reach offline devices when they reconnect or their ticket expires. Activation and validation process a product-scoped machine identifier as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Pricing and payment

The direct-edition Pro lifetime license costs USD 9.99 once, with no automatic renewal or top-up. Applicable taxes and the final total are shown before payment. Live direct sales are handled by Waffo Pancake as merchant of record, subject to its checkout terms and policies. We do not store full card numbers or card security codes. A lifetime license has no recurring fee, but does not promise compatibility with every future system or unreleased features.

6. Refunds, billing errors and disputes

Digital licenses are generally not eligible for voluntary refunds. Mandatory consumer rights, duplicate or incorrect charges, remedies for defective or misdescribed products, and refunds required by the payment provider remain unaffected. Send your purchase email, order ID and reason to [email protected]; do not send full card details. We will investigate under applicable law and Waffo policies without restricting your right to seek help from the payment provider or authorities. A refunded license is revoked. Related access may be suspended during fraud or payment-dispute investigations; contact us for review of an error.

7. Breach, suspension and termination

Where there are reasonable grounds to believe you materially breached the license restrictions or applicable law, including unauthorized resale, public code sharing, licensing circumvention or fraud, we may restrict activation, suspend or revoke the affected license, or terminate the associated Pro access. Where practical and consistent with security and legal obligations, we will explain the reason and allow correction. Request a review at [email protected]; we will restore access where a mistake is confirmed. Termination does not remove statutory rights or legal liabilities, and this clause does not exclude refunds or remedies required by law.

8. Purchase channels and store redemption

Apple handles App Store purchases under its subscription and refund rules. An eligible valid store purchase can be redeemed in a App Store edition that supports activation codes, allowing the corresponding Pro entitlement in the direct edition without paying again. Free trials are not paid redemption entitlements. Lifetime purchases remain lifetime; annual subscriptions retain their valid period, with renewals, cancellation, refunds and revocation verified with Apple. Website purchases do not automatically unlock the App Store edition. Waffo website orders are one-time lifetime licenses and do not create subscriptions.

The editions share the same app identity and cannot coexist. Save your code before replacing the store app. If your App Store edition has no redemption button, wait for a supporting update. See the migration guide.

9. Privacy, support and liability

Read the linked Privacy Policy for order, activation, license-email and data-rights information. Audio behavior depends on hardware, the system and other software. To the extent allowed by law, the service is provided as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or compatibility with every configuration, and we are not liable for indirect loss. These limitations do not exclude warranties, liabilities or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Changes and contact

We normally announce material changes at least 14 days in advance on this website and, where applicable and contactable, by purchase email. Urgent security or legally required changes may take effect sooner with an explanation. Changes will not retroactively impose undisclosed fees or remove statutory rights.
