Audio stays on your device

Better Volume processes system audio locally in memory. We do not save recordings or upload audio. Device and app volume settings remain on your device. System audio recording permission is used for real-time audio control. Local diagnostics are not automatically uploaded; support receives diagnostic content only when you choose to share it.

Website and direct-license data

When the direct edition launches, activation sends your license key over HTTPS and a randomly generated installation identifier to our licensing service. The server stores license hashes, activation mappings, order/subscription identifiers, payment status and entitlement dates to validate purchases, enforce device limits and handle refunds or disputes. The local Keychain stores the license, installation identity and signed offline grant. We do not use hardware serial numbers as licensing identifiers.

Payments, hosting and support

Website payments are planned to be processed by Creem, which may collect billing details and payment information under its own policies. We do not store full card numbers. App Store purchases are processed by Apple. This website uses Cloudflare for DNS and delivery and a DigitalOcean server for hosting; these providers may process connection metadata such as IP addresses for delivery and security. If you contact support by email, we receive the information you send. We do not sell personal data or use advertising trackers.

Storage, choices and contact

The site saves your language preference locally. License records are retained as needed to provide purchased access, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations; support requests may be retained to resolve issues. You can request access, correction or deletion by emailing [email protected], subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements. Removing the app may not remove Keychain records. The app is not directed at children. Material policy changes will be disclosed here.
